FAQ

PawPerimeter — Master FAQ

1. PRODUCT BASICS

Q: What is PawPerimeter?
A GPS-based wireless dog containment collar. You set a circular boundary around any spot you choose, and the collar corrects your dog at the line so they stay inside the area. No buried wires, no transmitter, no monthly fee. The boundary lives on the collar itself.

Q: How is this different from a regular invisible fence?
Regular invisible fences use a buried wire and a transmitter that has to plug in at your house — that's why they cost more and aren't portable. Ours uses GPS satellite signal instead, so there's nothing to bury and nothing to plug in. Take it camping, take it to a friend's place, set it up at a new house in 5 minutes.

Q: How does the boundary work?
The collar uses GPS to track its own position. You set a center point and a radius — that creates a circular boundary on the collar. If your dog crosses that line, the collar gives a warning (beep first, then vibration, then static correction if needed). Most dogs learn the boundary within a few training sessions and stop testing it.

Q: What exactly does the collar do when my dog reaches the boundary?
Three-stage warning: 1) audible beep at the line, 2) vibration if the dog keeps going, 3) static correction (adjustable intensity 0-99) if they push through. Most customers never need the static correction past the first week — the dog learns the line fast.

Q: How am I notified if my dog leaves the boundary?
You're not — by design. The collar corrects them at the line so they don't cross. They learn the boundary within a few training sessions and don't test it. That's the whole containment design. We're not a live-tracker product; we're containment.

2. SETUP & USE

Q: How do I set it up?

  1. Charge the collar fully (2 hours on the included magnetic cable)
  2. Go outside under open sky — no roof, no dense tree cover overhead
  3. Power on the collar, wait for 3 GPS bars on the screen (30-60 sec the first time)
  4. Walk to the spot you want as the CENTER of your boundary
  5. Press the CENTER button — wait for the locator dot to be STEADY (not blinking) before moving
  6. Walk to where you want the boundary EDGE, press the RADIUS button
  7. Done. Put the collar on your dog and start training.

Whole thing takes 5 minutes per collar.

Q: Does it come with instructions?
Yes — quick-start instructions are in the box, and we can walk you through setup by email anytime.

Q: How do I find the center? Do I need electric there?
No electric needed. The center is wherever you stand when you press the center button. Walk to the spot you want as the middle of your boundary (typically somewhere central in your yard), wait for 3 GPS bars, press center. Done.

Q: Can I move the boundary later?
Yes — just press center again at a new spot, set a new radius. Boundary updates instantly. Great for vacation properties or moving.

Q: How long does setup take?
About 5 minutes per collar.

Q: Does it need to be charged before first use?
Yes, charge fully (about 2 hours) before the first setup.

Q: My collar won't save the boundary, what do I do?
99% of the time this is a GPS lock issue. Make sure you're outside under clear sky with 3 GPS bars showing on the collar before pressing the center button, and wait for the locator dot to be STEADY (not blinking) before walking the boundary. If the dot is still blinking when you press center, the boundary won't lock in. Try again under more open sky.

Q: How do I turn it on?
Hold the power button for 3-5 seconds until the screen lights up.

3. RANGE & BOUNDARY

Q: What's the maximum boundary distance?
3,280 ft radius — that's about 775 acres of coverage from a single center point. Practically any property fits.

Q: What's the minimum boundary distance?
50 ft radius. Smaller than that and you don't have enough room for the dog to actually move + the GPS buffer.

Q: How big of an area does it cover?
50 ft to 3,280 ft radius (covers up to ~775 acres) — circular boundary.

Q: Can it cover [X] acres?
Yes — for context: 1 acre ≈ 117 ft radius, 5 acres ≈ 263 ft, 10 acres ≈ 372 ft, 20 acres ≈ 525 ft, 50 acres ≈ 830 ft. All well within our 3,280 ft max.

Q: Is the boundary circular only?
Yes — circle only. The yard doesn't have to be round, though. Position the center anywhere and the circle just needs to COVER the area you want your dog in.

Q: What if my yard is rectangular / L-shaped / odd-shaped?
The boundary is a circle, but the yard doesn't have to match. Center the circle over the area you most want covered. Most non-round yards work fine — the dog learns the line through training, not by visualizing the yard.

Q: My house isn't in the center — does that matter?
No. House can be inside the circle, on the edge, or outside it entirely. Doesn't affect function.

Q: Can I set the boundary inside a fence?
Yes — common setup. Put the GPS boundary inside your fence line with a buffer. The collar corrects the dog before they reach the fence at all, so they stay in the safe zone without testing it.

4. CONNECTIVITY — WIFI / CELL / APP

Q: Does it need WiFi?
No.

Q: Does it need cell signal?
No.

Q: Does it have an app?
No — by design. No phone component, no app to download.

Q: Is there a base station / transmitter?
No.

Q: Are there monthly fees?
No.

Q: Can I track my dog on a map?
No — we're a containment system, not a live tracker. The collar keeps your dog inside the boundary you set, so they don't cross. You don't need to track them because they're contained.

Q: I live in a dead zone with no cell signal — does it work?
Perfect fit for you. GPS satellite signal works anywhere with a clear view of the sky — no cell coverage, no WiFi, no internet required.

Q: Does it work without internet?
Yes — completely offline. GPS satellite signal only.

Q: Does the collar connect to Bluetooth?
No — no Bluetooth, no WiFi, no cell. Pure GPS.

5. BATTERY & CHARGING

Q: How long does the battery last?
4 days per charge.

Q: How long does it take to charge?
About 2 hours on the included magnetic cable.

Q: How do I charge it?
Use the included magnetic charging cable — connects to the back of the collar. Standard USB end goes into any USB power source (wall plug, USB-C wall adapter, etc.).

Q: Is it a standard USB-C cable?
The collar uses a proprietary magnetic charging connection, NOT a standard USB-C port. You need the included magnetic cable. If yours is missing, reply to this email and we'll ship one.

Q: What if my charger gets lost or broken?
Reply to this email and we'll send a replacement.

Q: What happens when the battery dies — is it replaceable?
The battery isn't user-replaceable. Lifespan is several years of normal use. We have a 2-Year Extended Warranty add-on at checkout that covers battery failure during that window.

Q: How will I know when it's running low?
The collar shows the battery level on its screen.

Q: What do I do with my dog while the collar is charging?
2-hour charge — bring the dog inside (the system is outdoor-only anyway, collar gets turned off when they're indoors), tether them, or keep them in a fenced area. Most multi-dog customers cycle the charging so one collar's always ready.

6. SIZE & FIT

Q: What size dog does it fit?
Dogs 10-200 lbs with neck sizes 8-26 inches. Fully adjustable.

Q: Will it fit a small dog?
If the dog is at least 10 lbs and the neck is at least 8 inches around, yes. Below 10 lbs the device is too heavy and the static correction is calibrated for larger dogs — not recommended.

Q: My dog is a Chihuahua / Yorkie / under 10 lbs — will it work?
Honest answer — no. Our minimum is 10 lbs. The collar would be too heavy and the correction isn't calibrated for tiny breeds. Recommend looking at brands specifically built for sub-10 lb dogs.

Q: My dog is huge — Mastiff / Great Dane / 200+ lbs — will it fit?
Up to 200 lbs is our range, and the neck goes up to 26 inches. Should fit a big dog cleanly.

Q: The collar looks too big for my dog
The strap is fully adjustable — tighten it down to the smallest setting (fits down to an 8-inch neck), then cut off the excess strap with scissors. Most "too big" concerns get solved in about 30 seconds with scissors.

Q: Is it heavy on my dog's neck?
For dogs in our 10-200 lb range, no. The device is sized for medium-to-large dogs. If you have a sub-10 lb dog, it's too heavy — different product category.

Q: Is it adjustable for different dogs?
The strap is, but the boundary setting is what matters. All collars share the same boundary you set. So one center point, one radius, multiple collars all running off it.

7. WATERPROOF & DURABILITY

Q: Is it waterproof?
Yes — IPX7 rated. Survives submersion, swimming pools, ponds, baths.

Q: Can my dog swim with it?
Yes — IPX7 waterproof. Pools and ponds inside the boundary are no problem.

Q: What about heavy rain?
No issue — IPX7 handles it.

Q: How tough is the collar physically?
Built for outdoor use — hard plastic housing, reinforced strap. Survives normal dog activity. Not chew-proof if a dog targets the collar itself, but it's not a chew target by design.

Q: What about extreme cold / heat?
Operating range covers typical outdoor temperatures. Avoid leaving it in direct sunlight at extreme highs (e.g., inside a parked car in summer) which is more about the battery than the device itself.

8. INDOOR / OUTDOOR

Q: Does it work indoors?
No — outdoor only. GPS needs a clear view of the sky to track position.

Q: What happens when my dog comes inside?
Turn the collar off when your dog is indoors. GPS signal drops or gets unreliable under a roof, which can cause false triggers. Quick on/off takes 2 seconds.

Q: Will it shock my dog if they come inside?
GPS gets unreliable indoors, so we recommend turning the collar off when the dog comes in. Otherwise inconsistent GPS could cause unintended triggers.

Q: Can I set up a boundary inside my house?
No — GPS doesn't work reliably under a roof. Outdoor only.

Q: Does it work in a barn / shed / garage?
Anywhere with a roof overhead, GPS is unreliable. Outdoor only.

Q: I live in an apartment — does it work?
If you have an outdoor patio or shared yard area, you can set a boundary there. For indoor-only apartments, no — the system requires sky visibility.

9. CORRECTION (BEEP / VIBE / STATIC)

Q: How does the correction work?
Three-stage progression: beep first at the boundary, then vibration if the dog keeps going, then static correction (adjustable 0-99) if needed.

Q: Is it humane?
Yes. The static is calibrated to be unpleasant enough to deter without harming. You also adjust the intensity to your specific dog. Most dogs learn the line within a few sessions and stop testing it.

Q: Can I turn off the static correction and just use beep + vibrate?
Yes — set the static intensity to 0 and the collar will only beep + vibrate. Some dogs respond to that alone, especially smaller breeds or already well-trained dogs.

Q: How adjustable is the static correction?
99 intensity levels (0 = off, 99 = maximum). You dial in what works for your dog's size and sensitivity.

Q: How does the correction compare to Pet Safe / SpotOn / other brands?
Pet Safe uses a fixed static correction tied to their transmitter. Ours is adjustable 0-99 with beep + vibration warnings before static. Physical correction strength is comparable at higher levels. Big difference in our favor: no transmitter to plug in, fully portable, boundary lives on the collar.

Q: My dog has a thick coat — will the correction reach them?
Yes — the contact points are designed to reach through normal dog coats. For extremely thick coats (huskies, malamutes, etc.) you may need to increase the static level slightly.

10. ENVIRONMENT (Trees, Mountains, Urban)

Q: Does it work with lots of trees?
Honest answer: heavy tree cover affects GPS.

  • Open yard with scattered trees → works fine
  • Yard with canopy that has gaps of open sky → usually works, set the center under one of the open spots
  • Mostly under dense canopy → not a great fit, signal will be unreliable

Q: My yard is wooded — will it work?
Depends on canopy density. If you have open patches where the dog spends time, you can usually set a boundary there. If it's mostly under thick canopy, GPS won't lock reliably.

Q: I live in the mountains — does it work?
Mountains overhead and around can affect GPS to some degree, but as long as there's open sky directly above the boundary area, it works. Test the setup at your center point — if you get 3 GPS bars on the collar, you're good.

Q: I live in a mobile home park / urban / surrounded by buildings — will it work?
Same answer as trees — needs clear sky. Dense urban with tall buildings overhead is a problem. Open patches work.

11. SHIPPING & DELIVERY

Q: How much does shipping cost?
Free in the US. The price you see at checkout is what you pay.

Q: How long does shipping take?
7 business days from when you order (sometimes up to 14 with the private carrier network we use).

Q: Do you ship internationally?
US only at this time.

Q: Where do you ship from?
We're a US-based company (AGARFFA Brands LLC, in Utah). The manufacturer is overseas (standard for this product category), but the company is American-owned and operated.

Q: Is the tracking link not working?
Our tracking only works on our portal: https://pawperimeter.com/apps/parcelpanel?nums=YOURTRACKINGNUMBER. We use a private logistics network, so FedEx/UPS/USPS sites won't recognize the tracking number. If our portal still shows nothing, your order may not have shipped yet.

Q: When was my order shipped?
Reply to this email with your order number and I'll look up the ship date.

Q: My order hasn't arrived after 7 days — is that normal?
Standard delivery is 7 business days, sometimes up to 14 with our private carrier. If you're past 14 business days from shipment, reply to this email and we'll look into it.

Q: Tracking says delivered but I don't have it
Tough one. Once tracking shows delivered, the package is outside our visibility. Check with neighbors, look at any covered spots (porches, gates, mailboxes), and contact the carrier with the tracking # to help locate. We don't have a reship option for delivered packages.

12. RETURNS & REFUNDS

Q: What's your return / refund policy?
Our refund path is the 30-Day Dog Containment Guarantee — full policy: https://pawperimeter.com/policies/refund-policy. The mechanics: 15 min/day of training for 30 consecutive days, video each session as an email reply attachment, ship back at your cost, refund reviewed at our discretion at the end.

Q: Do you have a no-questions-asked return policy?
No. The Guarantee above is our only refund path. We make the policy clear upfront.

Q: Can I return it if I just don't want it?
Our only refund path is the 30-Day Containment Guarantee (training + video documentation required). We don't have a remorse-return process.

Q: Can I return it within 30 days?
The 30-Day Containment Guarantee requires actual training documentation. It's not a "30 days to decide" return window — it's a process you complete with proof, and at the end we review for refund at our discretion.

Q: Will you send me a prepaid return label?
No — return shipping is on the customer per our policy.

Q: My order was on sale / a promotional bundle — can I still return it?
Promotional purchases (any discount code, bundle, markdown) are final sale per our refund policy. The Containment Guarantee is the only path even on promotional purchases.

Q: I haven't used the product, can I send it back?
Same answer as above — Containment Guarantee is the only refund path. Even unopened, we don't have a remorse-return process.

13. WARRANTY & DEFECTS

Q: Do you have a warranty?
Two paths:

  • 2-Year Extended Warranty add-on at checkout — covers defects (won't charge, won't power on, hardware failure) within 2 years
  • Defect on arrival or shortly after — we replace any unit with a verified defect regardless of warranty

Q: My collar is broken / cracked / fogged — what do I do?
Reply to this email with a short video (or photo) attached showing the defect clearly, and include your order number. We'll verify and ship a replacement to your address on file. Replacements ship from our manufacturer so expect arrival within about a week.

Q: My collar won't turn on / won't charge — what do I do?
Reply to this email with a short video attached showing the collar connected to the charger with no power response. Include your order number. We'll replace once verified.

Q: My charger / cable is missing from the package
Reply to this email to confirm your order number and we'll ship a replacement charger directly. Should arrive within a few days.

Q: How long do replacements take to arrive?
About a week — replacements ship from our manufacturer.

Q: Do I need to send the broken one back?
Usually no — we don't require return of the broken unit. If we need it for inspection (rare), we'll let you know separately.

14. PRICING & PAYMENT

Q: How much does it cost?
Check the product page for current pricing: https://pawperimeter.com/products/freedombound%E2%84%A2-wireless-dog-containment-system. We run promotions occasionally so the price varies.

Q: Do you have any discounts / coupon codes?
Check the product page for current offers.

Q: Do you offer financing / payment plans?
Yes — payment plan options are available at checkout (Shop Pay, Klarna, etc., depending on what's enabled at your checkout time).

Q: Why was I charged twice?
At checkout, your cart was set to the quantity you ended up with — you would have confirmed that quantity on the order page before submitting. The "+" button on the order page increments by 1 each click. The receipt confirms what was charged. If you think there's an actual duplicate charge (two separate orders for the same items), send both order numbers from your email confirmations and we'll dig in.

Q: Can I cancel my order?
If the order's already been processed and shipped, no. Once it's in our logistics system we can't recall it. If you placed the order very recently and it hasn't been shipped yet, reply to this email and we'll check the status.

Q: Can I change the shipping address?
If the order hasn't shipped yet, reply with the correct address ASAP and we'll update it. Once shipped, we can't redirect — at that point the address is locked in.

15. COMPANY INFO

Q: Who makes PawPerimeter?
AGARFFA Brands LLC, a US-based company in Utah. The collar is manufactured overseas (standard for this product category), but the business is American-owned and operated.

Q: Where are you located?
Utah. We're a US-based company.

Q: Are you American owned?
Yes — AGARFFA Brands LLC, US-owned and operated.

Q: Is this a scam? My order is taking forever.
Quick reassurance — we're AGARFFA Brands LLC, Utah-based. We use a private logistics network for shipping (keeps costs down so we can keep prices reasonable), which sometimes means slower-than-Amazon-style delivery. Standard window is 7 business days, up to 14 with the private carrier. If you're past that and still nothing, reply to this email and we'll investigate.

Q: Do you have a phone number?
We don't run a phone line — keeps us responsive to everyone instead of stuck on calls. Email's the fastest way to reach us.

Q: Can I order over the phone?
No phone orders — checkout on the product page is the only path. Happy to answer any product questions over email if that's what's holding you back.

Q: Do you have 24/7 support?
We monitor support during business hours and respond within a day. No 24/7 phone line.

Q: How do I contact support?
Reply to any email from us, or send a fresh email to support@pawperimeter.com with your order number in the subject.

16. COMPARISONS

Q: How do you compare to SpotOn?
SpotOn is a higher-priced product with cellular tracking and an app. Ours is GPS-only containment — no app, no cell, no monthly fees. If you need live phone tracking, SpotOn fits that. If you need straightforward containment at a lower price, ours fits.

Q: How do you compare to Pet Safe?
Pet Safe wireless uses a transmitter that plugs in at the house — works but isn't portable, and the boundary is limited to the transmitter's signal range. Ours uses GPS satellite, no transmitter, fully portable, larger range.

Q: How do you compare to Halo / Wagz / app-based collars?
Those are app + GPS + cell-tracking products. Different category. Ours is pure GPS containment, no app, no monthly fee, much simpler. If you want app features, those fit. If you want a simple containment that just works, ours fits.

Q: How do you compare to the cheaper Amazon brands?
We're built specifically for GPS containment with calibrated correction levels and a real customer support process. Cheaper Amazon brands often use weak GPS chips that drift, generic correction units, and no real support if something breaks. You get what you pay for.

17. MULTI-DOG SETUPS

Q: How many dogs can I use this with?
No system limit. One collar per dog, all collars share the same boundary you set.

Q: I have [X] dogs — what do I need?
[X] collars total. They all run off the same boundary, so you set the center + radius once and all dogs are contained.

Q: Can I add more collars later?
Yes — buy additional collars whenever, they share the boundary you've already set. No system reset needed.

Q: Do you sell multi-packs?
We sell 1-packs and 2-packs. For more, place additional orders — same boundary, just more collars.

Q: Do you sell a 4-pack or 6-pack?
Not directly — place multiple orders for the quantity you need.

Q: Can each dog have a different boundary?
No — all collars in your setup share one boundary. If you need different boundaries for different dogs (e.g., one in the front yard, one in the back), you'd need to manually set each collar to a different center point separately.

18. SPECIAL USE CASES

Q: I have livestock guardian dogs (Great Pyrenees, Anatolian Shepherd, etc.) — will this work?
Perfect use case. Set the boundary around the property they're guarding, and they stay in that area while still having full run of the space. Common setup for working livestock dogs.

Q: I have hunting dogs / working dogs — does it work?
Yes — these are common use cases. Set the boundary where you want the dog to stay during off-hours. For active hunting/training off-property, take the collar off (we're not a tracking product).

Q: I have a rescue / new dog — will this work?
Yes, with consistent training. New dogs benefit from a slower introduction — leash the dog and walk the boundary with them for a few sessions before letting them off-leash. Most dogs learn the boundary within a week.

Q: I run a small breeding kennel / multiple dogs at once — does this scale?
Yes. One boundary, one collar per dog, no system limit. Common setup for small breeders with multiple dogs in one outdoor area.

Q: Service dog discount?
We don't have a service-dog discount, sorry. Check the product page for current general offers.

Q: My dog is reactive / aggressive — should I use this?
The collar handles physical containment but doesn't address behavior. For reactive dogs near a boundary line (where they might lunge at passersby), consult a trainer first. Our system isn't a behavior fix.

Q: My dog escapes everything — will this hold them?
Most dogs learn the boundary within a few training sessions. A determined escape-artist might push through the initial training, but the static correction at the line is a real deterrent at higher intensity. Increase the level if needed.

19. CONTACT / SUPPORT

Q: How do I contact you?
Reply to any email from us, or email support@pawperimeter.com with your order number in the subject line.

Q: How fast do you respond?
Same business day typically, within 24 hours at the latest.

Q: I haven't heard back from you
Apologies — reply to your original email or send a fresh one with your order number and we'll get to you fast.

20. TROUBLESHOOTING

Q: GPS keeps showing weak signal — what do I do?
Move to a more open area (no overhead trees, no roof). The collar needs a clear view of the sky to lock onto GPS satellites. If you're in a yard with mixed canopy, try setting up under one of the open patches.

Q: The boundary triggers when my dog is in the middle of the yard, not at the edge
The center point didn't lock in fully when you set it. Reset: power off, power on, wait for 3 GPS bars, walk to the center, wait for the locator dot to be STEADY (not blinking), THEN press center. Walk to the edge and press radius. Try again.

Q: My dog crossed the boundary without getting corrected
Three things to check: 1) collar is on and powered (battery level visible on screen), 2) static intensity isn't set to 0, 3) contact points are touching the dog's skin (not buried in thick coat). For thick coats, increase static level.

Q: The collar beeps randomly even though my dog isn't at the boundary
Usually a GPS lock issue. Reset the boundary with the steps above. If it keeps happening after a fresh setup with good GPS lock, reply with a video and we'll diagnose for a possible defect.

Q: Battery dies fast / won't hold a charge
If it's not lasting close to 4 days, that's a defect. Reply to this email with a video showing it charging + the time/percentage progression, plus your order number, and we'll sort out a replacement.

Q: The collar screen is fogged / has water inside
That's a defect on an IPX7 device — shouldn't happen. Reply with a video showing the visible damage + your order number for a replacement.

Q: Where can I get spare parts (prongs, strap, etc.)?
We don't sell parts separately. If something's broken, reply to this email with a photo + order number — we'll replace the affected unit.
